Wiesenfeld's pieces usually focus on a young woman experiencing or observing her surroundings. They're often eerie or dim-lit.


I love how the girl is not always the center of the painting. She is often just observing the interesting scene around her, and she herself is not the focal point. While there are likely other meanings, I love the idea of decentering the human in the painting and instead having nature as the subject. As humans tend to dominate and abuse nature, it is interesting to see them take a backseat to a natural setting.
